A Minersville man is facing charges following an incident in which he reportedly pulled out a woman’s hair.
According to an affidavit, police were called to an apartment in Minersville shortly after 7 p.m. on March 3 for a report of an assault. The woman reportedly told police that Jarod Lengefeld, 27, assaulted her.
Police say the noted multiple contusions and abrasions to the woman’s face and around her eye. The victim also had a laceration on the top of her head and dried blood on her shirt. A large lock of the woman’s hair was on a table in the apartment, police say.
Lengefeld reportedly pushed the woman multiple times and then struck her in the head, which is when her hair was pulled out of her scalp, police say.
Police say that while they were taking Lengefeld into custody, he told them that he had blacked out near the end of this incident. He was given emergency medical treatment, police add.
Lengefeld was then charged with a misdemeanor count of simple assault and a summary offense of harassment. He was arraigned before District Magistrate Judge David Plachko and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 1.
