The juvenile who said a Shenandoah woman exposed herself to him by pulling down her pants earlier this month testified about the incident during a preliminary hearing.
Annie Morrisey is facing an indecent exposure and other charges following an alleged incident at the Vine St. park on April 19. Morrisey has been in jail since the incident and appeared before District Magistrate Judge Anthony Kilker on Thursday morning.
Previous reports from this news outlet and others in Schuylkill County did not mention an indecent exposure charge. However, The Canary learned at Thursday’s preliminary hearing that a clerical error left out that charge from the original docket in this case.
At Thursday’s hearing, the alleged victim of this incident – a sixth-grader at Shenandoah Valley – testified that he and a friend were waiting on other friends to show up at the park with a basketball so they could play.
When they arrived at the park, Morrisey was sitting on a duck playground toy and saying how she used to play there when she was younger, he testified. He said they paid her no mind as she sat on the see-saw apparatus.
After the friends showed up with the basketball, Morrisey actually took a shot before her actions took a turn for the worse, he said. The victim testified that Morrisey called him a n****r and a “baboon” before she pulled her pants down and exposed herself to him.
He said he turned away quickly but that he felt “weird” and “upset” from the fleeting glance he got. Morrisey also allegedly threatened the juvenile by saying she was once part of the KKK and “would put me on a cross and put gasoline on me.”
The victim also testified that Morrisey tried to spit on him and tried to slap him but he weaved to avoid getting hit.
Shenandoah Police Officer Mark Hysock testified that Morrisey slipped out of one handcuff while he tried taking her into custody and that back at the station, she spat all over the holding cell.
Kilker ruled that the simple assault charge against Morrisey should be dropped but held all other charges – including indecent exposure, resisting arrest, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, and harassment – over for Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas.
Morrisey is still being held at Schuylkill County Prison on 10% of $5,000 bail.
