State Police in Hazleton are on the lookout for two suspects they say fled a crash following a vehicle pursuit that began in Schuylkill County.
According to information released this afternoon, at about 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, police in Mahanoy City spotted a reported stolen vehicle in the borough. The vehicle had been reported stolen by State Police-Hazleton on Tuesday.
Police in Mahanoy City attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle, with four people inside, fled and a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit went into Luzerne County and police say as the driver of the vehicle attempted to negotiate a curve getting on to Interstate 80-East from Interstate 81-North, they lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Four suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. One male was taken into custody shortly after the incident. A juvenile male was located between the east- and westbound lanes of I-80, in a heavily wooded area, and taken into custody.
Two more suspects remain on the loose, as of the last update from PSP-Hazleton.
